Amazing bindings, but with a major flaw
I have spent a few days on these bindings so far and have come to a few conclusions. First of all, the toe strap is no where near long enough. I have a size 11.5 boot and the L/XL bindings and I am on the last or second to last tooth on the adjustment side of the toe strap (not the side you tighten, but the side that is usually only a permanent adjustment). From my understanding there is also no longer strap available to purchase. This is absurd. On the few days I have on these bindings I have had the toe strap randomly release on me 5-10 times (from the adjustment side, not the ratcheting side). I even had it randomly happen on the lift and had to have my friend fix it for me while being terrified of the strap falling off the lift as I needed to loosen both ends in order to re-engage the tooth while the board was hanging on by only the ankle strap. I have never had a binding that randomly releases on the adjustment side of either strap. I have only ever had issues with the ratcheting side on previous bindings. In my opinion, this is a MAJOR flaw and should be addressed via a recall and newly designed toe strap. Now, onto the binding itself. The FASE mechanism is absolutely fantastic, but can be annoying. The ankle strap needs to be at the correct tightness otherwise it just flops down while you try to put your foot in and then you have to take your foot off of it, put the strap up in a spot where your foot can go in, and then try to put your foot in again. But if the strap isn't tight enough then it flops down again. And the problem is....THESE LOOSEN ON THEIR OWN THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Very very annoying. It's worth having a tool on your body to tighten these at least once during the day otherwise you will deal with this flop. Another thing to be aware of is that keeping the toe strap at the correct tightness is very difficult. If it's too tight then you will not be able to step into the binding. If its too loose then when you step in it will just flop up above your toe and you will have to manually bend down and position the strap back over your toe and then tighten it. It was not often that I could actually step into the binding and only tighten the ankle strap before riding. I am sure I could get better at this with more time, but it's just something to mention. I would love if there was a way to permanently make the toe strap frozen in the right position for my boot, but unfortunately you cannot even tighten the screw enough for this. Another design flaw in my opinion. In terms of performance, as I am sure everyone already knows, these bindings act just the same as regular bindings and therefore have every bit of performance of any other binding. Overall, these bindings are a HUGE improvement over typical bindings, but they need work to become the go-to step in binding even though people already believe they are there. If you are looking to purchase a FASE binding, then go for it, but be ready for the flaws.

A GREAT binding”.”
I got these for my daughter. She tried them at Darkside in March of 25’. She rode Step On & straps. She likes how they’re simpler & lighter, you can wear ANY boot & have straps Step Ons don’t. It’s basically a traditional binding that’s 3X faster to use!
