Ultimate Black Bear Trash Locks

I will be using Trash Lockers for the for seeable future.

I live in Brooklyn. As of 2026 we are required to use city approved trash bins. Previously we put trash bags on the curb, which I always thought was a terrible idea. However, my property isn't equipped with the space to store three large trash bins, a recycling bin and a compost bin, so I need to keep my bins on the sidewalk in front of my building. Because of this many people use my bins for their trash, even my own neighbors, and my bins are constantly full. On top of that, these strangers and random people don't separate their trash and put things in the wrong trash bin. Because of this I have been issued many many tickets by the sanitation department. Honestly, my management of the trash has been one of the most annoying and troublesome issues in my life. I put Trashlockers on all the bins. After doing this the first week, the amount of trash in my bins has drooped by 80%. This also means that my tenants can use the trash bins for themselves and have no need to keep trash in their apartments till the bins are next emptied. On top of that, I am hoping I won't be getting any more violations and tickets for having my trash mixed up. I am very grateful for Trashlockers and I see this as the best possible solution for my particular situation.

Great product and it works!

I am very pleased with these lockers. The installation was straight forward but the installation videos did have useful tips like using tape to mark and align before drilling. Took me about 20 minutes to install but I wasn't in a rush. These worked right away too. We have a family of black bears that routinely break into garbage bins on my street. So far they have tried 3 times and not once got the cans open. They have a routine but seem to be avoiding my cans now. I like having the 6 locks over the kit with 3 because it keeps the lid secure so it doesn't get damaged if the bears try to pry it open. After putting these on my cans the only work I have to do after the bears come is stand the cans back up because all they can do is knock them over. Highly recommend these to anyone that has animals getting in their trash. These would work on any style can that has a lid as long as you can drill a hole for the straps to bolt through.

Highly recommend this product! Bears have tried several times to get in our trash without success ! They even picked up can and threw it locks held they left teeth marks also! Great product
