Helios F

All it’s cracked up to be!

Able to use new Helios 9’4wt F yesterday and must say happily surprised. Most “next best thing” rods have such minor changes that they are difficult to discern….however the new Helios is not that way. I consider myself an intermediate fly fisher, definitely not an expert. But after my first few casts all I could say was WOW! First, much lighter than previous models. Not sure how they do it but it’s great. The feel and sensitivity is definitely improved without any degradation in strength. Hooked a couple of 14 inchers, not giants, but easily felt the eats on the size 22 nymph. And was able to land them with no issues. All the changes add up to the best accuracy for me. No more hoping to get the fly where it needs to go. Am able to get it right on the first cast almost every time. Makes casting fun instead of a chore :). Needless to say I would highly recommend the new Helios.
