The bread maker part is just fine but irrelevant. I made 2 calls. The first was really helpful, confirmed that repair was impossible and the new part arrived promptly. The second call was to enquire how to unscrew the blessed old shaft. "Hit the screwdriver with a hammer" I was told, to my horror. It worked a treat - thank you very much.
