ylang ylang
Fraterworks Ylang Ylang has become one of those materials I reach for more often than expected. It brings a soft, slightly creamy floral character with a hint of fruitiness that helps round out a composition without taking it over.
What stands out is how adaptable it is. It works just as well in white florals as it does in more tropical or nectar-driven blends, adding a kind of “flavor” that makes everything feel more complete. It doesn’t read overly heavy or indolic, which makes it easier to use across different styles without fighting the rest of the formula.
In practice, it’s less about being a focal note and more about what it does underneath—smoothing transitions, adding warmth, and giving the blend a more natural, cohesive feel.
Overall, a very usable ylang ylang that earns its place by how often it improves a formula rather than how loudly it announces itself.
