Started first pull out of box. Runs like a champ!

I decided I wanted to purchase a new Honda outboard motor for my boat and take advantage of promotion from Honda that included a discounted price and an additional 2 year warranty extension. I found the Boat Max website and it showed the motor I wanted In Stock. So I placed the order with them and waited to hear from them regarding shipment. After a week I contacted them to get an update regarding my order. I was told it might be another week before they got delivered to their warehouse. I checked back after two weeks and still no motor. They informed me that the isdue was with the Honda warehouse unable to fulfill my order. They offered to cancel my order if I wanted to, so I did. After looking for the motor on other websites, Boat Max was the only one showing it in stock. I thought possibly the original order was finally delivered to them. So I submitted a second order for the same promotional offer, discounted and a extended 2 year warranty. After two weeks of not hearing from them, I contacted them for an update. They told me the motor still hadn't been delivered to them. However if I would be willing to wait a little longer, they would give me an additional $100 discount. I told them I was concerned that I would loose the warranty extension if I waited any longer. But they assured me that it would still be included . So I agreed to wait for the motor to be delivered. After waiting over a month for this order to be completed, I called the Honda customer service department. I asked them if the motor I had ordered was available or if it was on back order. I explained my situation to them, and all they could tell me was the motor wasn't on back order and that Boat Max wasn't considered a certified Honda dealer. That I should contact them again. So I called Boat Max again, and still they did not have the motor in house even though the website showed it in stock. They told me I should cancel my order and they would let me know if one was ever delivered to them. Within 15 minutes I received a message that the motor would be there the next day. I asked if my canceled order could be reinstated at the same price, and I was told it could. Three days later I received a call from the warehouse telling me they had the motor there. I told the representative that I wanted the motor for the price in the previous order and they refused. I asked about the warranty extension and they refused. They offered me the motor at the original discounted price , take it or leave it. This has probably been the most frustrating online purchase I've ever dealt with. You should look elsewhere for a new outboard.

Best price around. Responsive when called w questions and requesting updates. Will buy from boatmax again when need arises!! Thanks for the great experience.
