Perfect size and weight for bikepacking
I was a little confused at first when my tent turned up and it had a label stating it was a "Spider" when I ordered a "CloudTrek", but it seems that these are indeed the same tents. It was beautifully packaged, with the included footprint, weighed around the advertised weight, and the materials seemed good quality, good stitching, no loose threads, etc. I put the tent up in my living room, seeing as it's the middle of Winter here, and it was easy to assemble. The tent was the perfect size for one person who literally needs a space to sleep/ cook and not much else. I liked the size of the opening and the headroom. I actually got inside with my wife and my dog just to see if we could all fit in some emergency. I was amazed to find that we did (just)! I loved the colour and the feel of the fabric. It could maybe have had an extra interior pocket or two, but then that would add to the weight, and the low weight is one of the key selling points. When I use this on my bike, I plan to separate the inner/ outer from the poles/ stakes. I also replaced the stakes with what I feel are slightly better ones. My one concern is that there's a single pole, meaning a single point of failure. If any of the pole sections were to break, then the entire tent would collapse. I guess carrying some tape to make an emergency fix would help. To be fair, any tent would fail if a pole broke, but I would guess that a standard pole would be easier to replace with something off the shelf.
