Love these for "off roading"

this is my second pair of Peluvas and I love the tread on the bottom of these! I was recently out on a light hike and really noticing how much I prefer these over big clunky hiking boots that "protect" my feet at the expense of feeling truly steady on them. Being able to feel the ground, but not have to worry about being injured by it, is amazing. I'm a long-time prescription orthotic wearer and I'd much rather wear these than my orthotics -- despite the fact that the orthotics were a total game-changer for my hips, knees and ankles after years of wearing "foot prisons" that were the wrong size and didn't support my feet. this is the next step in the evolution and I am here for it!

Beautiful Shoe

I'm normally a Vibram Five Fingers guy, but the Vibram shoes I want have been OOS for the past year, so I've turned to Peluvas. And I'm not upset about it. The Strand is a good shoe. It's the right dimensions for my foot. The sleek design and muted metallic green are nice to look at. And I have no doubts about the construction, at the moment. Where the shoe might fall short of the Five Finger models I used to wear is in the "barefoot" factor. There's a lot of cushion. The sole is thick and rigid compared to a "true" barefoot glove-shoe. This is especially noticeable in the toes, which cannot wiggle nearly as much as I would like. But as someone who walks on pavement for a living, I don't need a "true" barefoot shoe. I need a hybrid. And that's what Peluva gives. The Strand is perfect for my purposes.
