Yamaha Stage Custom Toms (12/14 v. 13/16)

I own two Yamaha Stage Custom Bebop kits and have played them for many years, whether in church or worship settings or country bands. I made the choice many years ago that spending lots of money of high-dollar or exotic shells would produce less bang-for-the-buck than spending money on high quality hardware and cymbals. I've come to find that a 13" tom on the top (I play one up and one down) is better for me, as it can be tuned up as if it was a 12", but it has the darker and slightly deeper sound and can also be tuned lower, when desired. I previously bought a 16" floor tom for one of my bebop kits for use in country playing. Very pleased with the Drum Center of Portsmouth, as it always has the extra Stage Custom toms available when I needed them. They arrive well-packed and unblemished. No muss and no fuss!
