A Good Overview of an Interesting Loco Class

This is a welcome book on the subject of my favourite class of railway locomotives. This first book in the series sets out the history of the class along with the background to British Railways (Western Region)'s introduction and operation of diesel hydraulic traction. This is followed by detailed examination of each member of the class with photographs and listings of shed allocations and maintenance. I am looking forward to Volume 2 with enthusiasm.
