Unreliable sizing, zero flexibility — shop elsewhere
I grew up swimming competitively for close to two decades and have purchased more swimsuits than I can count. I understand that sizing varies between brands, especially online, and I factor that in. Returns and exchanges are a normal part of buying swimwear — which is exactly why a retailer's policy on them matters so much.
Norca's doesn't hold up.
I ordered based on their size chart. It was significantly too small to even get on. When my daughter tried to pull it on, the tag snapped off — and Norca used that as grounds to deny my exchange, despite the fact that the suit is visibly and in fact unworn. I pointed out that if hygiene were the real concern, Norca would have included a hygienic liner. I noted that the tag still exists, just detached. I offered to mail the suit back for inspection. None of it mattered. Norca's hands aren't tied — they're choosing inflexibility and pointing to a detached tag rather than owning it. Hygiene standards matter; this situation doesn't implicate them, which is exactly what makes it so frustrating.
In response I was offered a publicly available $5 discount toward purchasing a second suit.
This product exists specifically to reduce anxiety for young female athletes managing their periods. The inflexibility here, in a case like this, isn't lost on me.
I've returned and exchanged at plenty of other swimwear retailers without issue — when their sizing information has led to a poor fit, they've used discretion. That's the difference. First and last order.
