The burpless cucumbers have grown well- four plants in one hill- climbing in a 5 feet tall heavy gage wire cage. They have tolerated both dry and rainy spells. They have been prolific enough to share with friends and neighbors. They are still producing at the end of August although some leaves are beginning to yellow. We prefer them picked before seeds develop too large.

These cucumbers are our favorite. They form many beautiful fruits. They are sweet and crisp, have tender skins, and are not bitter. I use them in salads, refrigerator pickles, and have also dried them into flavored crisps. They do need a trellis and I tie mine up to give them a little more support.
