Liber Usualis 1963 & 1952 (Latin Chant with Gregorian Notation)

Learning Gregorian Chant with this as your primary main reference book is incredibly rewarding! The hardcover has a really nice feel to it. The pointing at the end of the psalm verses is pretty good. I still ended up also getting the Glastonbury Monastery Psalter since their systematic notation really worked well for me. No doubt it is hard work if you are starting from scratch ... it helps to befriend a choir member or someone good at it, since it's so much to learn even for someone with intermediate level general Western music notation (lots of pieces in major and minor scales, 4/4 and 3/4 time). Personally I loved the lenghty all-Latin sections, it has this spiritual feel to reading it even though you're not understanding everything. Once again, the hand-written letter was a treasured personal touch to the delivery!

The 1952 Liber Usualis arrived very well packeged and it also came with a hand-written note expressing the company’s gratitude for having purchased from their store.
