This review covers two items bought from GT Omega as a bundle. The Apex wheel stand, and the Moza R3 wheel and pedals set.
I did plenty of research online before choosing these items.
Apex Wheel Stand.
This is a heavy and robust item. Fortunately Omega sell wheel castors which fit to each corner of the stand, which make moving it around a great deal easier. I haven’t even tried to fold it for storage as it is all just too heavy, plus there are numerous online reviews pointing out that this is potentially quite dangerous, with the pedal base falling heavily at unexpected times.
Assembly of the Apex was much more difficult than I expected, the enclosed instructions are useless. I had more help from various online and YouTube reviews of the stand. I contacted Omega about this but they were not of great help, although they did try to be. I still haven’t worked out how to fit the chair link to the stand - I don’t actually need it at the moment but may well do so later.
I have two wheel and pedal sets. A second-hand Logitech G27 for use with my PS3, and the Moza R3 bought in a bundle with the Apex. Both are difficult to fit to the stand, much harder than any manuals or reviews suggest they would be, especially the pedal sets. Particularly with the R3 I had to improvise fitting the pedal sets, made harder by physically having to hold the pedal base in the right place, while attempting to fix it there with bolts. I had to tie the R3 pedal base to the Apex with string the help in this.
Having struggled to assemble, and then fit the wheel/pedals, the Apex has worked well so far.
Moza R3
I chose the Xbox version of the Moza R3 to use with my Xbox Series X and Forza Horizon 4 game. Despite Moza racing STILL claiming that the R3 is compatible with FH4, it simple isn’t. Had I known that this advice from Moza was untrue I would NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE R3. I have proof that Moza still claim this compatibility (a screenshot dated 4th July 2026), while their so-called tech support state both on their website and in emails to me that it is compatible with FH4. They say that the wheel, and I quote, “can be inconsistent or loose compared to other racing simulators”, which seems to be to be them admitting that the R3 doesn’t work properly with FH4. I have repeatedly asked Moza for detailed advice in how to set up the R3 in both their software and FH4 settings, but they consistently refuse to do so. They have the cheek to tell me to buy different racing games instead! DO NOT BUT MOZA RACING PRODUCTS IF YOU WANT TO USE IT WITH ANY FORZA GAMES. I have wasted £300 on this and I am not happy. The R3 gets good reviews generally, that was why I bought it, but Moza are not telling the truth when they say the R3 is compatible with FH4. It is awful to use, the steering is impossible to use with any accuracy, the Xbox controller is MUCH better with FH4 and it really shouldn’t be better than a £300 wheel and pedal set. what was supposed to be fun has turned into something of a nightmare.
