Nice budget Leg Press /Hack Squat with a few issues
The Lionscool Leg Press Hack Squat is a very nice budget-friendly machine. We did have an issue with the linear bearings binding during installation, but Lionscool responded quickly and sent replacement parts. **Excellent customer service.**
Once assembled, the machine is smooth, easy to load, and makes a great addition to a home gym. That said, there are two areas I think Lionscool could improve:
**1. The adjustment increments are too large.**
The stops on the sides are a full foot apart. On one setting, you can feel completely cramped trying to get into the leg press, while on the next setting, you may not be able to comfortably reach the footplates.
If you watch some of the online "influencer" reviews, they don't really demonstrate the process of actually getting into the machine and releasing the footplates. They tend to sit in the machine while talking, with their feet positioned on some obscure part of the machine. That brings me to my second issue...
**2. Getting into the machine is awkward.**
With most leg presses at a commercial gym, you simply walk up to the seat, stand in front of it, and sit down. That's not really possible with this machine.
The four sled rails extend all the way to the front of the seat, so you have to approach from the side and contort yourself to get into position. There is no easy way to simply stand in front of the seat and sit down.
**Overall:** This is a very good machine for the money. It's smooth, solid, easy to load, and Lionscool's customer service was excellent when we had an installation issue. However, the large adjustment increments and especially the awkward entry into the machine are significant drawbacks for me.
I would recommend it as a budget option for a home gym, but personally, I won't be buying another one for my vacation home, where I already have a full gym.
