Hoya 'Optimistic'

My Optimistic is now a year old and has grown to a whopping 27 feet (823 cm), and coiled around a 2.5 x ft 5 in dia trellis. Peduncles are beginning to form. She is a single vine with two branches and my 2nd purchase is 8 months old, 19 feet long, which includes a propagated vine sharing the same pot and both have multiple branches showing peduncle growth. If you appreciate the leaves, they are a beautiful dark green, firm, with a lighter underside, and have a slight, but soft 'fuzzy' feel. Easy to care for and forgiving. They are regularly watered with light feeding, as well as living in my chunky mix of orchid bark (not pine), pumice, small lava, and a small amount of potting soil contained in self-watering pots (water doesn't last long, they are very thirsty plants). Optimistic is great for beginners and experienced, she doesn't disappoint. My recommendation, add one to your collection while they are affordable, you'll be glad you did!
