A Polite Kyoto Warning Led Me to the Ultimate Engineer Keyboard

As a software engineer, I used to bring the Red Switch version of this keyboard to the office. One day, a colleague sitting next to me remarked, "Your typing sound is so lovely!" At first, I felt proud of my purchase—until I remembered he was born and raised in Kyoto. It was a classic piece of passive-aggressive courtesy, subtly implying: "Your keyboard is way too loud, quiet it down."
Realizing this, I immediately rushed to buy this version equipped with the BlushNano silent switches.
The keystrokes feel softer than the Red Switches, offering a light, satisfyingly pillowy bounce that requires zero finger strain. What’s truly remarkable, though, is the noise level: it’s virtually silent. I have never used a keyboard that typing feels this smooth yet quiet.
If I'm being completely honest, transitioning from Red Switches left me feeling a tiny bit unsatiated. Auditory feedback releases dopamine, which honestly boosts productivity. Switching to silent switches did drop my personal typing efficiency slightly, but that is a tiny price to pay to avoid driving my team crazy.
Where this keyboard truly shines, however, is its split spacebar. By remapping the right spacebar to Backspace, my typing efficiency skyrocketed. For a software engineer, this layout is absolute perfection. Having dedicated Function keys and arrow keys without sacrificing layout space is another non-negotiable feature for dev work.
An unexpected perk is the non-aluminum housing. When using the "Sonshi Style" (resting the external keyboard directly on top of a laptop keyboard), the lightweight build ensures it doesn't put unnecessary weight or strain on the laptop chassis.
Without a doubt, this is the best keyboard I have ever owned.
