XS Scuba Smart Marker Buoy SMB

Great safety device

The XS Scuba Smart Marker Buoy SMB arrived in nice packing, brand new condition. I chose a high visibility orange color; other colors are available for your diving conditions. It comes with clip to attach to a BCD, a pocket that holds the finger reel with line. This is long, 6 feet! Great if conditions are wavey. Plus, it has 3M reflective tape on the top so if you are night diving it will reflect light. This has an inflator that can be used orally, with an inflator hose from the BCD, or from the bottom with your reg. It has a pressure relief value in the event its overinflated. In addition, there is a weight pocket at the bottom. When running drills, we found this to be very helpful. The reason is, you can put a weight in the bottom of the SMB and let go. It’s attached to your BCD, so it is near while you have full function of your limbs. I think this is clever and possibly lifesaving. I have dove about 12 times with this SMB, never had to use it (thankfully). It does hang off your BC, I could not feel the weight of it, it was never in the way, or caused another issue for me. The material is heavy duty feeling, thick. It sure feels like it will hold up over time and will not tear easily. Summary, I phoned Santa Barbara Aquatics asking about an SMB and this was recommended. I found value in the sales rep opinion and why this SMB was recommended, the quick call saved me time researching SMB’s. The ordering process online was painless, and the product arrived within 48 hours. I would recommend this product to a friend.
