Cressi Travelight BCD

After much research and agonizing…and more research…I eventually decided on the Cressi Travelight BCD….because I like THE COLOR!! That’s right… I said it. Go ahead and have your fun. As a re-direct, I hate it when other people write equipment reviews and say…. “I haven’t used it yet BUT”….. I mean, can’t you calm down enough to wait until you’ve used the equipment before you review it? No? Did you peek at your Christmas presents before Christmas Day? I digress…but I anticipate the re direct was successful so…..moving on. I bought this BCD for travel and will put it to use in Tahiti in May and Thailand in June. I haven’t used it yet. Other reasons I decided on the Cressi were comfort, integrated weight system (new for me) and packability. My old BCD is heavy and takes up a ton of space when traveling. Plus it’s from the late 90’s and I believe a catastrophic failure may be imminent. This Cressi travel BCD folds up nicely, taking up much less room than my old BCD…and it fits like a glove! I’m fairly confident it won’t suffer any catastrophic failures during my lifetime as the material seems to be high quality and heavy enough to withstand some abrasion. I’m 6’3, 230 lbs and wear an XL shirt. I bought a large size BCD as l plan to use it for warm water diving without a wetsuit. The size seems to have worked out perfect for me (when measuring, I was at the very top of the scale for the BCD large size). I thought the integrated weight pockets were a little small..and they are..…but there are also two rear pockets for weight which are available and I look forward to experimenting with those which should get me in the 14-15 lb range that I normally use. The side zippered pockets are huge and I think they could also be used for extra weight if necessary….just in case my wife needs some, not for me off course. Some people have complained about the side pockets zipping forward to open. If I notice an issue I’ll try to update the reviews ONCE I’VE GOTTEN THE BCD WET. Now I just need to find a new blue mask to match the awesome color!
