Alpha 4.0 Motorcycle Jacket - Black

Beautiful jacket!

I had been eying this jacket up for a while, spoke with Grant for some help with the sizing, I’m 175cm tall with a 100cm chest, bit on the lean side. He recommended size large, I pulled the trigger and bought the jacket along with the pants, and he was spot on with the sizing! The jacket layers perfectly with whatever I need to wear underneath, fits slightly looser which is what I wanted out of the jacket, and looks pretty casual too so I don’t end up looking like a power ranger when I go into the shop to buy some things. It’s definitely rain proof, and keeps me warm even without the thermal liner. I find that the vents offer some decent ventilation for when it’s a bit warmer, but probably won’t be ideal for summer, which is fair given it’s made out of thick textile and has rainproof fabric built in. The thermal liner is nice for when it does get extra cold, but I do find the wrist gaiter is impractical to use if you are using gauntlet style gloves. This isn’t a big issue though as you can just put it over your wrist instead of using the thumb gaiter, it just makes putting your gloves on a bit more difficult (if they are gauntlet style). I also bought the armour (back, elbows and shoulders) and they all fit snug into place and don’t move around, you hardly notice it’s there! Grant is a legend and I would definitely recommend emailing him if you are concerned about sizing. I strongly recommend this jacket if you are looking for a stylish, well made 3/4 season jacket!

Good service and support

In a world full of stars and mice, the jacket holds its own among them in my opinion. I purchased this with the armour set and although at the time or this review I am waiting on the elbow inserts, the jacket has been a great addition to my daily commuting kit. I purchased this in preparation for winter and I'm confident I won't freeze this year and trust the protectors will do their job if needed. Grant was great to deal with when it came to sizing questions and was very patient and accommodating. Even if I wasn't able to try the jacket on physically I was confident it'd be a perfect fit - which it is!

Love it

I’ve been running the Alpha 4.0 jacket and Grenade gloves for a couple of weeks and honestly, the quality is next level. Living in the snowy mountains, cold and wet conditions are just part of the deal—and this jacket handles it effortlessly. I’ve had it out in 4°C weather wearing nothing but a thin shirt underneath and still stayed properly warm. That’s rare. Most gear claims it can do that, but this actually delivers. Wind, cold, light rain—it just shrugs it off. Easily the best jacket I own for harsh conditions. Fit and comfort are spot on too. It doesn’t feel bulky or restrictive, which matters when you’re riding for long stretches or dealing with twisty roads. You can tell it’s been designed by people who actually ride. The Grenade gloves are just as solid—great feel, good protection, and they don’t compromise on control. No numb, disconnected feeling on the throttle or levers. Only downside right now? I need the Alpha gloves back in stock in my size. Once that’s sorted, I’ve got zero complaints. Genuinely impressed—this is proper gear, not just hype. Thanks again for the awesome kit.
