Overall it’s pretty nice. The leading edge Could be tweaked to fit the grill a little better. The underneath of the leading edge is inconsistent for shape. The vertical end should be made tall enough thatyou can trim it to fit perfect, because these cars didn’t have very close tolerances back then. Overall I love it

This is very sturdy and only needed a little trimming near the grill mounting tabs. This is understandable due to build variation. Also my car was in a frontend collision and repaired before I purchased the car.

This product has a rough finish: -- Cut-outs around the brace for the hood latch are wide and uneven. -- Edges are roughly cut as with a heavy hand: uneven and not uniform. -- The finish of the flat part of the piece looks like sprayed undercoating: lots of pits and unevenness. The part does not have a good fit to the surrounding pieces, and being as thick as it is, it doesn't flex or bend into place. Anticipate lots of dremel time to get it to fit well, and lots of sealant and weatherstripping to seal gaps to the surrounding car body and braces. It appears the part is supposed to fit on top of the very front brace across the engine compartment, just behind the very front grill. With the uneven cut edges, you'll have an ugly, uneven, raised ridge. No finesse. The inlay for "American Motors" is not a clean imprint, but fades into the surrounding flat surface in places and not uniformly so. The triangles that comprise the red/white/blue AMC log are uneven. The entire piece is amateurish and a sorry purchase on my part. Of course, the photos in the adverts for the piece show these issues (I call defects), so pay attention to them because the result looks no better than the photos. This product is fine if the look and finish mean nothing to you.
