Maybe I should have ordered light roast instead of medium, but these look and taste very dark to me. I get dark chocolate, caramel, and cherry notes, with a little tobacco on the finish. The amount of offgas released during brewing makes me think these are very very fresh, but I am unable to find a roast date anywhere on the package. I'm hoping the flavors develop as they rest. As it sits currently, this is a decent coffee for the price but nothing extraordinary.
