Inconsistant sizing

This is my 3rd pair of the HOKA Bondi9 shoe. Although the stated size of these shoes are 8D, I have found that the fit feels much narrower than my previous 2 pairs, which are the same size, according to the stitched on label in the shoes. I can only surmize that HOKA is lax in their quality control procedures. Now I am stuck with "sale priced" shoes that are too uncomfortabke to wear. Not the fault of the seller by any means.
