Location is very important. I had to mount them closer the the trunk that the drip line to make sure the root ball gets the water I needed. If you older 1/2” line, 10 Jrs is probably max or too much. The Jrs don’t really get down the full 6” if your line is surface.
Those caveats aside, the do a good job and lower the amount of time and frequency of watering the zone.

I find using this subsurface water system is ideal if you want to maximize water to your trees and shrubs. At the same time not providing water to crab grass and other weeds.

Great for bushes. I live in Las Vegas, NV. It gets hot here. Delivering water to the roots, is a game changer here. Instead of desert plants, I have rosebud trees, roses, mums, and Peonies…
