I’ve been a customer of Maya Njie’s for a long time—spraying Tobak when I want to be elusive and Nordic Cedar when I want to feel enveloped in a fresh rain while hiking a trail. Tropica is a portal; with a spray on each wrist and behind each ear, I’m suddenly on a beach in the Caribbean eating fried snapper that I’m chasing with a Ting. I’m eating a juicy mango with its nectar running down my arm—peels and fibers stuck in my teeth. Wafting in the air is coconut, freshly cut and hand-grated for its milk. Tropica is the perfect accompaniment to a hot, humid night paired with the perfectly timed gust of wind.
