DIRECT FIT PHONE MOUNT - Mazda MX5 MIATA (2016+)

Perfect Fit !

This mount is perfect for the ND Miata. It’s sturdy yet un-obtrusive. The arm is a thin metal that’s thick enough to handle my heavy iPhone Max. The black on black circular mount is very low key, almost as if it were oem. Install took about 15 minutes after watching the video.. Not sure why others complain of adhesion problems. Mine came with a self tapping screw which combined with the 3M double sided tape, makes for a very secure mount. I have no worries this baby will come off!

Room for improvement

I really want to leave a positive review for this but unfortunately I feel that the company can do better. For $120 I purchased a mount with a Qi2 charger. The package included no installation instructions whatsoever. Finally found an installation video they posted on the product page. Installed per instructions. Cleaned the location with alcohol. Taped on the mount. Reassembled my dash. After one drive I noticed that the mount was loose. Took apart my dash to discover that the tape they use is lacking. It's a spongy foam. Turns out that the foam separated. Kinda ridiculous that they cannot spend an extra ten cents for a decent piece of tape for this application. I reinstalled it with some much stronger VHB tape purchased at my own expense.

Excellent Phone Holder for ND Miata

I hesitated about spending $50 on a phone holder, but after going through multiple cheap options from Amazon, I finally decided to buy one. I don’t know why I wasted so much time with Amazon when Course Motorsport already had such an excellent solution. Like other reviewers have said, it’s not perfect, but it’s better than the most. I might add a small bolt later for extra security, but so far it’s been holding up really well.
