I installed my Rally Mount on a spare tire bracket that I picked up on-line. I love how tightly the Howl snaps into place and I know it's not going anywhere. We use it out on the beach often, and its great because I don't need to wait for it to fully cool off before loading up and heading out.

My first time using it I found it to be very easy to operate. Fired it up and the heat was instant. The light around camp from the Howl was perfect. It was an instant hit with me and camp. I used it at the 2026 King of the Hammers championship racing event and it won 1st Place with me. I'm installing the mount kit this weekend so I can take it everywhere I go. Thank you for a great product!!

Good, but could use some tweaks. It’s not really a 1 hand operation. I think there needs to be a lower tolerance in width, there is too much spacing on each side. So theres a chance if you don’t center it properly the pin won’t latch because it is latching into the circular cutout in the shell by the regulator, rather than a dedicated slot, so if its to one side, the cutout isn’t deep enough at that point for the pin to seat. You’ll need to slide it over to center it. The design does also require some pressure to latch it. This is necessary to ensure it doesn’t rattle. I’ve found you must pull the pin to seat it as well. I was hoping it would simply click into place as you seated it, but that is not the case (the pin binds against the R1 if you attempt to just push it into place).
I think I expected tighter tolerances (side to side) and a 1 handed operation. I also expected a premium feel to the action of mounting and dismounting (give me a satisfying click). This is nit picky, but for the price at nearly half that of an R1, these types of things matter (at least to me).
The pin itself is super nice, machined well, and has good action, but I personally feel it was the wrong choice for the product it is keeping captive.
It does work, don’t get me wrong. But I feel like there should be V2, maybe a compression latch instead of a pin. 1 handed operation, and tighter tolerances would make it worth $184. Also, a better solution than a $5 gun lock to serve as the safety mechanism for if the mount fails on the highway, and the prevent theft really should be thought of. A compression latch, with a beefy locking pin would be a better solution. Bonus points if the locking pin is captive, or at least attached to the unit by a wire.
