They used an abrasive material as part of the back heel support that rubs and causes friction as I walk. The back heel seems solely designed for a thin foot (as do their shoe sizes). The shoe is too long for my foot but the smaller size will not fit comfortably because I have a wide foot (4E). It has caused blood blisters on my back heel after just one day of use.
