Upgrade for Lauri

I have purchased a few Lauri blades over the years and they are good but always a little misshapen due to being stamped out. The rhombic grind eliminated that so there is less finishing required for a final product. This does appear to be a normal Lauri blade with extra grinding. Puukkos that I have seen with a rhombic grind usually have a thicker cross section so the spine is still “normal” thickness and a more dramatic visual in the shape. Still a good upgrade and I would always choose this for a project over the standard Lauri blade. I look forward to finishing this project.

Functional not Fancy

I finally finished my Lauri Rhombic knife. I think it’ll make a great “woods” knife. I’ve been trending to longish egg shaped handles that get smaller at the butt. I find they are easy on the hands and i can shift knife grips smoothly. The sheath has a Lauri insert and is intended to be a true Puukko cross draw. I don’t wear a belt so the dangler is a soft shackle style to be affixed to a belt loop. In that position the dangler doesn’t interfere with my pack’s waist belt.

Rhombic Blade

The first rhombic type blade purchased. Stout and razor sharp, are the first two impressions. Since I'm a basic novice, still undecided on what shape the handle will take. Once again, ultra-quick shipping from Redbeard, Thanks Senor!
