This is the matjes herring I grew up with, and its great to see that nothing’s changed. The spiced sauce with ginger, cinnamon and clove is the perfect complement to the silky and buttery herring, and there’s even a “secret ingredient- padaukawood. I don’t know what it is, but given the amazing taste and aroma of Skansen Matjes Herring, you can call me a padaukaholic!
