It's a nice violin and you get a lot of goodies for the price. I compared the sound between my 1200-dollar violin and this one, and neither I nor anybody else could tell them apart. I bought this one mostly to take when I go traveling for fun that way if something happens it wouldn't hurt as much to lose this one as the more expensive one.
