Beautiful Suit, But Major Proportion Issues

I really wanted to love this suit—and at first glance, I did. The fabric is genuinely high quality, and the overall construction reflects a premium product. It’s clear that attention was given to materials and finishing details. However, the fit and proportions are significantly off, even when following the provided size guide. The waist and bust fit as expected, which makes the rest of the issues even more frustrating. The sleeves are approximately 4 inches too long, and the pant legs are about 5 inches too long. At 5'8", this isn’t a case of being petite—the proportions are simply not aligned with standard expectations. What makes this especially problematic is how the design limits alterations: The pants are styled to widen at the bottom, so hemming them significantly changes the intended silhouette. The sleeves feature beautiful functional buttons, but shortening them from the cuff would remove that detail. The alternative—altering at the shoulder—is far more complex and expensive. At this price point, the expectation is that the garment is not only well-made but also proportioned in a way that allows for reasonable tailoring. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here.
