Angles Crimson - 1857

Wasn't too sure at first. I have PP version of English Oak and hazlenut and on first wear of this i felt it smelt exactly the same. Couldn't detect any redcurrant or rose. Just the woody Oak. Left for a couple of weeks and now I get a warmth, more depth to this. I get the initial fruitiness of the redcurrant and while I may not yet be able to detect rose there is something there adding more complexity to the Oak. Is more warmer than English Oak and hazlenut which i would say has a more green note to it and lighter than this. I really like Angles Crimson. Very long lasting, good projection. Some reviews on the JM original describe it as smelling like a Christmas candle. I really don't get that. Many also say it is more masculine leaning. Again I don't feel it is but I am more than happy to wear unisex not so traditional "feminine " fragrances. A beautiful, unique colder weather scent. Evokes walking through an autumnal forest feel.
