A hit
My 12-year-old couldn't stop playing with this. He learned a lot about suspension bridges and had fun trying similar and new approaches with each bridge. He didn't even ask to play a video game for two days while he worked through all the challenges.

Incredible Teaching Tool! So long craftsicks, balsa wood, and toothpicks.
After having the opportunity to actually sit down and spend some focused time with this resource I am completely sold! I have been in education for 30 years teaching from 3rd grade talented and gifted to a college professorship. Bridge or Bust is absolutely one of the the most thought provoking and engaging activities I have done with my current 4th grade gifted students. Bridge design in the past (craft sticks, balsa wood, or toothpicks - Yep, I've tried them all...) has always been a difficult engineering task with kids. To "test" a design it must literally be destroyed. And lets face it, were we testing their engineering skills or their construction skills? If you have tried any version of such you know the real answer here... Bridge or Bust completely opens a new experience with bridge design! No more one and done. No more questioning if the engineering was really the measure of success. No more wasted time or resources. No more glue messes to clean up. With this very thoughtfully designed kit, every piece is consistent, each student has the same construction skill, and bridges can be reset and retested without rebuilding! The old way of bridge design in an educational setting should be left to those who have the interest in detailed construction, model making skills, and consistent execution. And I have yet to find many students with any of these interests. So Bridge of Bust for the WIN! I will be finding funding to expand our resources with more kits. Thank you Upper Story, this tool is a game changer! I am now your number one fan.

Disappointed
I was excited to get this to play along with my grandkids, but I was disappointed after paying so much money and getting a bunch of cardboard! Some of the pieces are decent plastics, but the cardboard pieces are going to fail after several times playing.
