My birds have had the luxury of sunflower hearts so didn’t take too well to this mix. The flock of goldfinches in particular disappeared. This mix doesn’t do so well in tubular feeders in winter; as everything is slightly damp out there, the grit turned to glue and clogged the flow up. It might be a better outcome in warmer seasons. I’m cutting the rest of the bag in a 50:50 mix with sunflower seed, which the birds are doing better with. On the bright side, I’m not having to refill my feeders twice a day!

Our regular bird feed

We use this year round and the birds love it, on trays and in feeders. All kinds come to our garden, robins, chaffinches, sparrows, blackbirds, siskins, goldfinches….. and of course seasonal starlings. On subscription it’s really good value and is supplied regularly without having to remember.
