Laughing at Magic - Ebook #1

I started with Celine Jeanjean by reading her series the "Viper and the Urchin", which I can highly recommend. Following her newsletters, I tried 'Laughing at Magic' and the sequel 'Hunting with Magic'. These are the first two books in the London Edge Series. Pree (Priscilla) is an unusual heroine (who else has a hyena for a pet) with an unusual magic power and an attitude that confounds and confuses the magic communities of London. She is also friends with a ghost and a vampire and collects depArted souls as part-time job for Charon. This a highly original take on urban fantasy, with a mixture of humour, adventure and a serious undertone. The characters are all engaging, the plot is strong and I am looking forward reading more.
