No regrets

So far, so good. I have been wanting one of these for over three years. I was finally able to make this purchase and I am so happy with it. I have a very sensitive Arabian gelding who is very difficult for me to ride bareback. The sheepskin is perfect for him, other pads had neoprene or grippy undersides that made him buck. This pad also has decent wither clearance so there isn't any break in period. The pad offers me a lot of security as he is very flexible, bendy and quick on his feet. Haven't needed to use the grab strap but I'm glad it is there. The sheepskin is so warm, I have been able to take off my Carhartt bibs and ride in fleece leggings without getting cold in 20 degree weather. The billets are a little shorter and I need to get a longer girth. They are also stiffer biothane which is a little tricky to use in the cold but I'm sure, with time, I will appreciate their durability and longevity. I do wish bareback pads incorporated an ajustable Y or V girthing system for the rear billet as is used on many saddles. It would just give the pad a more adjustable fit and wouldn't really cost that much more to do. All the said, I still really love this bareback pad and only wish I had bought it sooner. Mountain Horse Saddlery did a great job of getting it to me as well. Thanks!

I have wanted one of these for a very long time and was lucky enough to borrow a friend's to try out before I purchased my own. I absolutely love it. I have ridden for 57 years (mostly bareback) and have owned many saddles and bareback pads. Riding in the Christ Cloud is by far the most comfortable riding I have every experienced. It is also the most secure bareback pad I have ever ridden in.
