Maybe a microphone that would listen to the ambient noise where the listener is located and adjust the maximum volume accordingly. Bought these for airplanes, trains, etc but couldn’t hear them in a halfway busy restaurant. To be clear: it’s not that not every word couldn’t be heard, or a detail missed here or there, it’s that I couldn’t even tell if they were on at all and they were at max volume. No hope of being able to hear anything in an actually difficult place.
