Note that the sizes listed are the total diameter, not the radius. So the 8mm size will have 4mm of the holographic flash extending from the string core; as such, when wrapped around a shank, you get about 4mm of fibers coming off the shank. The 15mm works well for tying buggers and skipping the hackle as the chenille fibers are long enough so you can save some time and skip the hackle.
