quality design - operational considerations
We are impressed with the design, fit and finish. This is for my wife with replaced hips. Helps her get heavy groceries when I am not around with the car; and go to her various clubs when it is dark or rainy. In BC one is supposed to use sidewalks for scooters, if they exist. But it is as wide as a sidewalk, so not appreciated by pedestrians. Also not suitable for busy roads. One needs to plan routes that work. Sometimes these are circuitous but avoid conflicts where the scooter may not be welcome. Also preplan where you intend to park it: next to bike racks often works or in a commercial parking lot stall. Although in BC scooters are not designated for bike lanes they do operate well in this type of space. Also, if the driver truly needs the scooter (that is looks older with limited mobility and drives slowly) then acceptance by others will be better. Turning radius is large and one needs to practice a three point turn in constrained locations. Turn signal button does not make an audible clicking; so it is easy to forget to turn it off - riding along in a straight line but signaling to turn (perhaps that is expected of seniors!). Ideally you have a garage or carport to park it at home. Standard house 110V outlet is adequate for charging; but if you need an extension chord get a very heavy gauge one from a construction supply. Get used to groups forming to ask you questions about the vehicle.
