Guy Laurent® Pernambuco Three Star Violin Bow

Surprisingly good bow

Fairly firm and (seemingly) well-crafted bow. In my hands I found it easy to produce a smooth consistent sound and was moderately successful trying more advanced bow techniques (spiccato, ricochet, and martilé). My only complaint is that the hair was too tight and is not able to be loosened enough for comfort. Thus I might have to rehair the bow soon. This is the second guy Laurent bow I’ve purchased as a practice bow. This one is far superior in terms of wood selection/construction, and a good find for the price point.

This bow produces wonderful sound with my violin and I love the silver grip.

Beautiful bow

I live in a rural area, a significant drive from any violin shops, so I was so appreciative of Shar sending several bows to my teacher so I could try them out. My teacher helped me choose the right bow for me and I absolutely love it. This bow feels like it was made to fit in my hand. It has a warm, smooth sound with my violin. I’m having so much more fun practicing now that I have this bow. It’s beautiful, too, with lovely detailing and obvious craftsmanship. Thank you, Shar!
