Classic set that's still worth a look

I've been a longtime Dominant player, using them ever since my undergrad violin instructor turned me onto them a couple decades ago. I've only recently been tempted to dip my toes into the world of alternatives, and what I've found thus far is that while other sets can certainly offer something Dominants can't, especially in terms of soloistic clarity and power, these are still a well-rounded set that can certainly provide some of those soloistic qualities with the right coaxing, but is also much easier to blend into a section sound. I prefer the set with the silver D, and am pairing these strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E in "Stark" gauge, which really sings and brings out a bit more clarity on the lower strings. As always, Shar's service is excellent and dependable.
