Huge Improvement

After trying to keep my viola on my shoulder and learning learning to play, and struggling to practice. After swapping out the original rest, I can now hold the insturment and concentrate on left hand, right hand, and reading notes. Which in themselves are hard enough to master without struggling to hold my viola. The only challenege was getting it adjusted to my body but once that was accomplished, smoother sailing for playing the viola.

Perfect!

Just what I needed right when I needed it! Keeps my arm relaxed. It falls off a lot, but only when I cramp down on it, which I shouldn't be doing anyway.

Comfortable and stable

I am a beginner on the viola (at age 76), and I have felt unable to hold the viola securely without gripping with my left hand. This shoulder rest, because it can be shaped, allows me to hold the viola comfortably and securely - not afraid I will drop it!
