Absolute Steal
I had the winnwell beer league specials and they just weren't cutting it anymore. I'm looking at these on sale for $41.99 (normally $69.99) and even at full price I am wondering what is so much better about $100 or $130 or $160 elbow pads? These are awesome. Maybe they are missing some of the top of line protection foam density, D30, etc. First of all they are snug fitting. I'm 6'1" have muscular arms, the XL is a good fit. They feel bulky when I put them on, but while I'm playing I do not even notice them, which was a problem with the previous. Constantly having to reposition them. These have 3 straps to help stay in place. The elbow pocket is deep. The key is to tuck your elbow as far back as possible, this does 2 things, makes the pads bend freely with your elbow, and will help the straps do their job to stay in place. The lower forearm strap is non-stretch. I think that really helps it from sliding down, and obviously wont stretch out over time. It takes a little bit more time and focus to put them on but once I position them correctly how I want on my elbow and straps are on I know they're not going anywhere, and they're comfy/ not noticeable while playing. It is one less thing to worry about while I'm out there. If I had one small gripe about them it would be that the forearm protection does not extend as much as some others, leaving a little bit more forearm/wrist exposed.
