The TS A75 is a great amp and a screaming bargain

I had seen the positive You Tube reviews for the TS A75. I read all the raving reviews from buyers on the Galion website. I noted the high quality parts used and the robust construction. Still I was a bit skeptical. Could it really be as good as people say? Yes, it really is THAT good. The bass is weighty and powerful and still fast and tuneful. The clarity is excellent. I am hearing nuances I've never heard in tracks I've listened to dozens of times. Thomas speaks of "air". He's right! There is (depending on the material) an openness and ambience that is not usually found in an amplifier at this price. I was a bit concerned about a supposedly "recessed" midrange. But I don't hear that at all. Instead I am drawn into the music. The A75 keeps me listening. This level of sound quality at $1500 is simply outstanding. It is a superb amplifier and an absolute steal. If you are in the market for a class A/B amp but you're not sure if the A75 is really as good as the reviews say...well, it really is that good. Thomas, you and the folks at Galion have knocked it out of the ball park! Now onto more listening...

I never thought an amp should color the sound but be transparent. So knowing I could return it, I gave the A75 a try. Wow, the voicing works beautifully with my MoFi SourcePoint 10 (Master Edition), and I'm keeping the A75. I would give this a five-star rating, except that it doesn't have a trigger input, which would be great with my P75.

Much Better Than Expected

For the past 8 years I've been using a Nelson Pass First Watt M2X amplifier. This is the DIY version of the First Watt M2 amp. It's a Class A 25wpc product. Given that I built it myself it's a miracle it lasted as long as it did. It recently developed a problem which I was unable to resolve. I used this as an excuse to buy something new. The A75 provides a different listening experience. It's more detailed and produces tighter, cleaner bass. The sound is less warm than the M2X. However, it still sounds full and organic, though less so than the M2X. It does not sound lean or clinical in any way. I'm hearing a rich, natural sound with tighter bass. There's also an increased sense of air around the instruments. I listen to a lot of jazz. The A75 does full justice to instruments like piano, trumpet and saxophone. I've also noticed that vocals seem a little more prominent. I'm sure some of that is down to the increased power rating. But I also think the ability of this amp to provide a cleaner, musical sound is the larger reason. Another great benefit for me is that even at low volume the sound is very satisfying. I live in an apartment, so I have to be mindful of my neighbors. Thomas provided excellent customer service. The entire purchasing experience was painless and without drama. I'd certainly buy from him again.
