Think I got a Lemon

I love FF jackets, I've had 4. I bought a Volant a year ago in XL. It fits more like a L, which is normal as the Volant has historically ran "smaller". I talked with a rep who said as of 2026 they've started correcting this by basically retagging them differently (so prior XLs would be tagged L now). As my current jacket fit a little short in the arms, I wanted to order a newer tagged XL to take a gamble and see if this solves the problem. When I got the new jacket, it fit way too big for my frame, so that wasn't going to work - nothing fishy there. However, the jacket had two problems: 1) there were two ENTIRE BAFFLES on the inside of the hand warmer pocket (which has down on both sides mind you) that had not been filled with down. Literally, no down at all, as if they had been forgotten, which is a big oversight. And 2) even after leaving the jacket out overnight to loft up, it did not come close to reaching the same loftiness of my current Volant. All that said, I sent it back with a sour taste. Hope this is just a one-time dud and not a larger signal...

Volant Jacket

Great jacket that's comfortable and warm while belaying or preparing breakfast and evening meal. Regarding sizing, the large fits great: I'm 5'11", 160 lbs with 34" length arms.
