Thick - adjustment needed to use with timer

I love this beautiful wall plate. I was installing a timer on one side and the wall plate was too thick to connect the the nut to the screw so I used a screwdriver to remove the meral backing, and then I was able to connect the timer. It was a tight fit, but looks better than if I had used a decora opening for the timer.
