The book was quite informative, but a little too technical for me. The photos were very good but not enough information about the type of moss in the photo. I was looking for information about what type of moss to purchase for my Japanese style garden. With information gleaned from The Book of Moss I think sheet moss would be suitable or possibly woodland carpet moss

Fascinating read.

The Book of Moss I became interested in moss after catching a lovely piece on Gardeners World filmed at Moss Clerks, and after a look on the Moss Clerks website, thought I would get this book. I found it very well structured and readable, with a lot of information which is conveyed in a very accessible manner covering both moss itself, the different types, where it is found, different uses from terrariums and mossariums, and a range of garden plantings. Although there are some pages of some very detailed research, it’s also charmingly informal and a very easy read; it’s like a really interesting friend telling you about their passion. It’s also full of beautiful photographs. If you are at all interested in moss, this is definitely the book for you, whatever your knowledge. I look forward with interest to the future publications mentioned in the book.

Amazing book with a wealth of info. I can’t wait to dive into the world of miniature forests!
