We remodeled the kitchen in a modest mid-1950s lakefront home in Florida. Our contractor recommended installing the countertop material on the wall, but we chose not to as that approach gives a modern appearance, as do many other backsplash alternatives. Our goal was for the backsplash to reflect the home’s lake surroundings.
After searching online for distinctive metal backsplashes, we discovered a heron and cattail metal backsplash designed by Natuross. We researched Natuross and found it listed as “active” in Florida’s business directory, so we decided to call the telephone number provided. Ibraham promptly replied to my call via text message.
Around that time, I came to realize that Natuross operates from outside the U.S. I had some reservations about engaging in business with a company located outside the U.S. due to the current political situation here, particularly concerning tariffs and the potential for blocked shipments from abroad. Additionally, we had a negative experience in the past when purchasing a product from an overseas seller.
We ultimately decided to take a chance to have Ibraham create our backsplash once we made some headway on the kitchen layout with our remodeling contractor. Once again, Ibraham was very prompt in his responses, providing us with a cost estimate and timeline based on the item and dimensions we required. We chose to order the item on the Natuross web site, where Ibraham showcases the best design options, even though we could have also purchased it from Amazon or Etsy, where Ibraham promotes his artwork.
After placing the order, Ibraham reached out via text to confirm the item, size, and materials, and he also updated us on his schedule. He promptly began working on the art backsplash and informed us that we would receive a photo of it before he applied a protective coating.
A few weeks later, we followed up with Ibraham, and he confirmed that he was on track. Shortly after, he sent us several photos of the backsplash from different angles. We provided some feedback, and Ibraham was very open to our suggestions, making minor adjustments to the art piece to reflect our comments. A few days later, Ibraham sent us additional photos to ensure we were satisfied with the result.
We received the artwork much quicker than we anticipated. Ibraham took great care packing it. He constructed a wooden frame around the piece, wrapped it in bubble wrap, and secured both the frame and the artwork in a sturdy mailing box that was thoroughly sealed with strapping tape. We were impressed by the additional effort made to safeguard the backsplash during transit.
The artistic backsplash featuring two copper heron birds wading through cattails set against a silver background is absolutely breathtaking. It’s clear from this remarkable piece that Ibraham takes immense pride and care in his creations. The elements of the artwork are perfectly proportioned, customized to meet our specifications. The birds, water, and cattails are highlighted by contoured impressions in the copper and silver. The contours make the features stand out as they appear to be finished with a darker glaze. We’re absolutely delighted. The backsplash is the centerpiece of the kitchen.
