‘Plum Bun’ (‘A novel without a moral’) by Jessie Redmon Fauset is a captivating read by one of the most influential writers of the Harlem Renaissance.
.
Some books have great style, some have a heroine whose aspirations I can (sometimes reluctantly) identify with, some books have an addictive plot.
.
‘Plum Bun’ has all three.
.
Colourfully designed and produced so the book is a beautiful object in its own right.

I'm so happy I found out about Quite Literally! I ordered this book for a friend who's a book lover and seems to own every book and she loved not only the book, but the packaging and company mission. This was a bday gift and they wrote a handwritten note to accompany it which was such a sweet gesture (shoutout Abby for answering my email!). I've passed Quite Literally onto my mom and friends and we've ordered several books as holiday gifts. Can't wait to see what books are coming next!
